Doctor of Business Administration


Overview

The Aldersgate DBA,is a unique model that blends an MBA incorporated stage within its  research based management program aimed at enhancing the candidate's managerial capacity to make a significant, original contribution to business practice for those who are unable to qualify direct for a research based PhD. The program is one of the largest and most prestigious in Asia, attracting participants from across the Globe.

Entry Requirements

On entry you must have the following:
  • 10 years work experience with 5 years or more in manegerial level with relevant Masters degree - either an MBA or an MSc in business and management subject(s).
  • If English is not your first language and if you have not studied in English for your Masters degree, you must also provide evidence of competence in English language in the form of an IELTS/TOEFL score.

Modules

Stage 1 – DBA Preparatory stage(45 units-MBA) & (20 units-Thesis Seminar)
Stage 2 - Thesis component (12 units). There is no formal syllabus for the thesis component with candidates proceeding with an approved program of supervised research study.
Stage 3 - Final Thesis submission with viva

Award Conditions

Full Award: The DBA will be awarded when you have successfully passed all components.

Duration & Delivery Methods

Duration: The programme is designed to be delivered over three academic years for full-time, but it is also flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time learning.

Delivery Method: You will receive face-to-face teaching, including lectures, group discussions in seminars and tutorials for Stages 1 & 2. With stage 3 only involving supervision of dissertation and thesis defence (viva).
