Team AC, Inc., led by AC President Rev. Dr. Micah Ryan B. Ramel, attended the PhilFIDA meeting at Brgy. Masoc in Bayombong in continuing efforts to realize the formation and registration of the Abaca Free Farmers Social Enterprise (AFSE) and with it, to fully attain the 100-hectare target area. Farmers warmly welcomed the group and expressed their willingness to work together with the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Agency (PhilFIDA), the Barangay Development Council, through PB Ferdinand L. Pinkihan, the MLGU Bayombong headed by Mayor Tony G. Baggasao, the PLGU under the leadership of Governor Carlos M. Padilla, and Aldersgate College, in its capacity as a member of Taskforce Kalikasan/Barobbob Watershed.
The project aims to train farmers in abaca growing and will be provided with abaca seedlings and a subsidy of 13 thousand pesos for fertilizer and pesticide costs through the initiative of PhilFIDA.
