FIRST NATIONAL PEACE CONVENTION
Together with more than 1,500 delegates from various sectors, peace advocates from Aldersgate College, Inc. attended the 1st National Peace Convention held at the Philippine International Convention Center.
Major General Isidro Purisima from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) welcomed the strong manifestation of support towards the weaving of peace in the social fabric to achieve a just and lasting peace for all Filipinos and the nation as a whole.
Dr. Ronald Adamat, CHED Commissioner, led the creation of a framework presenting the road map in achieving the vision to live in peace not just for this generation but for the generations to come.
Lee Man-Hee, Chairman of the Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Peace (HWPL), stated that the work towards the cessation of war and restoration of peace is not the work of man, but should be a collaboration between nations.
The convention culminated in the Manila Declaration of Peace and National Unity and various resolutions that were passed that afternoon in support of peace-building.
AC CENTER FOR PEACE STUDIES AND DISABILITY AFFAIRS
In December 2022, during his first BOT meeting, the AC President proposed the creation of the Center for Peace Studies and Disability Affairs.
The creation of the center puts into fore the intent of training ACians to become critical and systems thinkers in analyzing and understanding both current and historical events & issues, towards policy analyses, program planning, and implementation for peace and disability affairs advocacy.
