Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya — In a continued effort to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and strengthen innovation-led development in the region, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 awarded the approved Shared Service Facility (SSF) grants for 2025 during the 3rd MSME Summit, held on July 8, 2025, at the Carlos M. Padilla Convention Center.
The InnoKomunidad hub will cater to students, startups, MSMEs, and community organizations by offering services such as digital prototyping, multimedia content creation, digital learning tools, marketing support, and incubation for emerging entrepreneurs. Its development aligns with DTI’s national SSF program objectives—to increase MSME productivity and competitiveness through accessible, modernized facilities.
The grant proposal was authored by Ms. Ruth Charlyn D. Ramel and Dr. Cesar T. Medula, Jr., whose dedication and technical expertise contributed significantly to the successful approval of the project. The grant is not in the form of a cash award but will be delivered as equipment and service installations designed to operationalize the hub in support of inclusive innovation and enterprise development.
Representing Aldersgate College, Inc. (ACI) at the event was Kristian Cesar C. Ollier who received the symbolic cheque on behalf of the institution for the approved SSF project titled InnoKomunidad (Innovation and Community): An SSF Design Hub. The project, with an approved funding of ₱1.2 million, is aimed at providing advanced equipment and technological support to serve as a centralized facility for digital design, innovation, and community empowerment.
The MSME Summit was attended by key government officials, private sector representatives, academic institutions, and business leaders across the region. The event showcased collaborative initiatives focused on digital transformation, business resilience, and economic inclusivity.
The awarding of InnoKomunidad as one of the approved SSF projects reaffirms Aldersgate College’s role as a transformative educational institution committed to regional development, technological advancement, and public-private partnership. Through this initiative, ACI strengthens its contribution to building an innovation ecosystem responsive to the needs of local industries and communities.
