Tagbilaran City, Bohol — September 10, 2025. The Nueva Vizcaya delegation, currently undertaking their Trade Techno Mission – Benchmarking Activity, visited CocoBerry in Tagbilaran City to experience one of Bohol’s well-loved delicacies—the handmade Calamay Bun.

CocoBerry is known for innovating traditional Boholano flavors by infusing them into modern food products, such as the soft buns filled with sweet calamay (sticky coconut and sugar delicacy). During the visit, the delegation observed the preparation process, highlighting how local enterprises combine heritage recipes with contemporary presentation to attract both domestic and international markets.

The experience emphasized the role of culinary heritage and food innovation in promoting micro and small enterprises, creating livelihood opportunities, and sustaining local culture. For the Nueva Vizcaya delegates, CocoBerry’s model offered insights into how food-based enterprises can serve as vehicles for cultural preservation while driving economic activity in the community.
