SOIL, SPIRIT, AND SILK: ACI and PhilFIDA Break Ground for Aurora Farm Innovation Hub!

Aldersgate College, Inc., through the Office of Community Extension and Social Services (ACCESS), marked a momentous chapter in its 61st Founding Anniversary celebration today, January 23, 2026, at Aurora Farm, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya.
The Vision: Service Beyond Walls With the theme “Establishing Aurora Farm Community Learning and Innovation Hub
The ceremony officially signaled the start of construction for the Sericulture Rearing House. This facility is the centerpiece of a strategic partnership with DA-PhilFIDA aimed at revitalizing the local silk industry and providing sustainable livelihoods for our community.
A Legacy Preserved – The highlights of the event included the ceremonial Laying and Lowering of the Time Capsule.
To ensure future generations understand the heart of this mission, the capsule contains:

  • Project Blueprints
  • The Official MOA (signed Jan 16)
  • The Founders’ Scroll
  • The Sericulture Project Proposal & Programme
  • Current Philippine Currency
Guided by Faith – Following the first shoveling led by College President Rev. Eduardo B. Copliting, Jr., PhD, and our partners, a Short Worship Service was conducted. The ground was formally blessed and dedicated to the Almighty, echoing our belief that every brick laid is a step toward God-centered social transformation.
A Unified Institutional Effort – This milestone was made possible through the collective support of the Aldersgate College leadership. We recognize the active participation of:
  • Dr. Marissa J. Taguinod, EDD (VP for Academic Affairs)
  • Ms. Carolyn V. Amaranto, CPA (Acting VP for Finance )
  • Mr. Kristian Cesar C. Ollier, LPT, MBA (VP for Research Development and Entrepreneurship)
  • Mr. Tony C. Garcia (Executive Assistant to the President)
  • Atty Efraim C. Osingat, CPA (Internal Legal Officer)
  • Mr. Angelito G. Capuno (Director, TechVoc & Farm Manager)
…all of whom joined in the ceremonial lowering and shoveling, signifying our unified commitment to community development.

Looking Ahead – With 2 hectares of mulberry plantation already thriving, the completion of this Rearing House will transform Aurora Farm into a premier center for agricultural training and silk production in the region.
