In a remarkable step towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurial growth, students and mentors from Aldersgate College Inc. embarked on a benchmarking, mentoring, and educational trip to Baguio City on December 5, 2024. The activity showcased leading Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) and innovation hubs, providing invaluable insights into sustainable development and cutting-edge practices.

University of the Philippines (UP) SILBI
Saint Louis University (SLU) SIRIB
Smart City Command and Control Center
Museo Kordilyera
Baguio Youth Innovation Hub
VIVIStop Baguio
Each destination offered a unique perspective on technology transfer, youth empowerment, and sustainable entrepreneurship. Students engaged in interactive discussions, explored innovative solutions, and witnessed real-world applications of ideas that bridge academia and industry.
This activity was made possible through the unwavering support of the Provincial Local Government Unit of Nueva Vizcaya, led by Governor Atty. Jose “Jing” Valeriano Gambito, and the expertise of the UC InTTO team, led by Dr. Thelma D. Palaoag, whose commitment to collaboration and mentorship enriched the experience for all participants.
The benchmarking trip was a crucial component of PROJECT DESIRE, PROCEDE and Aldersgate College Inc. initiative to address academic challenges and foster a culture of sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship. By visiting Baguio City’s innovation hubs, the students gained exposure to strategies that align with national and global development goals.
