Day 2 of the Project DESIRE Capacitation Seminar focused on Entrepreneurial Mind Setting and the Business Model Canvas, with insights from Silvester Tuliao Miguel, Investment Promotion Officer at DTI Nueva Vizcaya.

Participants explored essential topics like goal setting, customer service, marketing, financial management, and characteristics of successful business owners. Through collaborative exercises, they turned innovative ideas into actionable business models.

Highlights from the Project DESIRE Capacitation Seminar

The second day of the seminar on December 17, 2024, shifted its focus to foundational entrepreneurial skills and tools essential for success. Silvester Tuliao Miguel, a Trade Industry Development Specialist and Investment Promotion Officer, conducted a series of dynamic sessions centered around the Business Model Canvas and Entrepreneurial Mind Setting.

Mr. Miguel covered several topics, beginning with “The Concept of Business” and “Setting Goals”, laying a solid foundation for participants to understand the core principles of entrepreneurship. He delved into “Characteristics of Successful Business Owners”, highlighting traits such as resilience, adaptability, and strategic thinking. Participants were then guided through the processes of ideation in “Business Idea”, customer engagement in “Customer Service”, and branding strategies in “Marketing”.

The sessions on “Financial Management” and the “Business Model Canvas” were particularly impactful. Participants explored practical financial strategies and learned to structure their business plans effectively using the Business Model Canvas framework. These sessions empowered attendees with actionable tools for launching and managing enterprises.

The program concluded with a series of group activities where participants applied their newly acquired knowledge, reinforcing their understanding through collaboration and real-world problem-solving. Faculty mentors guided student mentees throughout the exercises, ensuring that key learning objectives were achieved.
