Faculty Writeshop Strengthens Curriculum and Assessment Design Across Academic Units

To further enhance faculty expertise in curriculum planning, assessment design, and instructional effectiveness, the College of Business, Management and Accountancy (CBMA), School of Medical Sciences (SMS), and School of Criminology successfully conducted a Writeshop on Curriculum Planning, Syllabi Making, Construction of Tables of Specifications (TOS), Item Analysis, and Enhancement of the CAARTS Framework.
The event, which brought together faculty members from various disciplines, aimed to:
Develop well-structured and comprehensive course syllabi
Design appropriate Tables of Specifications (TOS) to align assessments with learning outcomes
Conduct item analysis to ensure test validity and reliability
The session was facilitated by Ma’am Debora B. Sampaga, LPT, MAEd, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. She shared her expertise in curriculum development and assessment strategies, guiding faculty members in aligning their teaching methodologies with student learning outcomes.
This faculty development initiative underscores the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, continuous improvement, and outcome-based education. Through structured training sessions like this, faculty members are empowered to create engaging, well-structured, and student-centered learning experiences.
