Solano, Nueva Vizcaya – Continuing its mission to foster sustainable entrepreneurship, Aldersgate College’s Community Extension Social Services (ABA-ACCESS) successfully conducted a demonstration on dishwashing liquid production and awarded essential materials to parent beneficiaries in Barangay Bagahabag. This initiative is designed to provide an additional source of income for local families and reinforce self-sufficiency within the community.
The demonstration proper showcased the step-by-step process of making dishwashing liquid, ensuring that beneficiaries gained practical knowledge and hands-on experience in producing a marketable product. ABA-ACCESS faculty members, student leaders, and advisers led the training, emphasizing proper formulation techniques, cost-effective production methods, and quality control to maintain product standards.
Following the training, parent beneficiaries received starter kits containing all necessary raw materials and tools for dishwashing liquid production. These materials will allow them to begin small-scale manufacturing, with the goal of generating income by selling the product within their respective puroks in Barangay Bagahabag. The initiative follows a community-driven business model where proceeds from sales will be reinvested to purchase additional materials, ensuring continuous production and economic sustainability.
Barangay officials, led by Hon. Eduardo Bangad, Sr., have pledged their support in monitoring and evaluating the program’s progress. Together with ABA-ACCESS student leaders and advisers, they will track sales performance, assess the financial impact on beneficiaries, and provide guidance on improving marketing strategies. The monitoring team will also gather feedback from participants to refine the initiative and enhance its long-term viability.
“This livelihood program is a meaningful step toward economic empowerment for our residents,” said Hon. Bangad. “It equips them with valuable skills and provides an opportunity to generate income that will benefit their families and the broader community. We commend ABA-ACCESS for their dedication to our barangay.”
The student leaders of ABA-ACCESS also expressed their enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting the importance of sustainable community development. “This project aligns with our commitment to ‘Leaving Legacy’—ensuring that our efforts create lasting impact rather than temporary relief. By empowering our beneficiaries to produce and sell their own products, we hope to cultivate a culture of entrepreneurship that extends beyond this program,” said an ABA-ACCESS representative.
As the project unfolds, regular monitoring will help determine its economic effectiveness and scalability. If successful, ABA-ACCESS plans to introduce additional livelihood training programs tailored to the needs of Barangay Bagahabag residents. This dishwashing liquid initiative serves as a cornerstone for future community-based enterprises that will contribute to the barangay’s long-term economic growth.
With collective efforts from the barangay, beneficiaries, and ABA-ACCESS, this project stands as a testament to the power of education, entrepreneurship, and community collaboration in creating meaningful and lasting change.
