WEAVING THE FABRIC OF SUCCESS: ACI and DA-PhilFIDA Formalize Sericulture Partnership!

A historic milestone was achieved today, January 16, 2026, as Aldersgate College, Inc. (ACI) officially executed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Agriculture – Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (DA-PhilFIDA). This landmark event stands as a highlight of our 61st Founding Anniversary celebration, held under the theme: “Rooted in Purpose, Rising in Excellence: Service Beyond Walls”.

The Journey to a Sustainable Legacy
The realization of this partnership is the fruit of a meticulous and rigorous process. Before reaching this stage, the project underwent a series of comprehensive legal counsel reviews and received the formal endorsement and approval of the College President and the Board of Trustees.

Critically, the groundwork included benchmarking conducted by the ACCESS staff alongside a sericulture farmer and technical expert to ensure that the development of the Aurora Farm into a premier Community Learning and Innovation Hub is grounded in proven, high-standard practices.

A Display of Institutional Unity
The ceremony was a powerful demonstration of unified support for our community mission. We were honored by the presence of:

  • Members of the Board of Trustees and institutional Consultants.
  • The Administrative Council.
  • The Technical Assistance Unit Head as the representative from our partner agency, DA-PhilFIDA.
  • Our dedicated Community Extension Coordinators.
    Program Highlights
  • Opening Prayer: A prayer for guidance and fruitfulness led by our School Chaplain, Rev. Arvie Estabillo, MACE, MDIV.
  • The Vision: ACCESS Director, Prosperita Marites A. Matterig, delivered a detailed Project Overview, charting the course for this sustainable livelihood initiative.
  • Message of Commitment: Fe G. Donato, Technical Assistance Unit Head of DA-PhilFIDA, solidified the agency’s dedication to this partnership.
  • Presidential Address: Our College President, Rev. Eduardo B. Copliting, Jr., PhD, spoke on the legacy of excellence and the importance of academic-government collaboration.
  • Closing Remarks: Mr. Tony C. Garcia, LPT, JD, Executive Assistant to the President, concluded the event with a message of hope and action.
  • Master of Ceremony: The program was gracefully facilitated by Ms. Desirae Amor Kisses T. Abenoja, LPT.

Through this partnership, ACI continues to rise as a beacon of innovation and social transformation, directly advancing Global SDGs 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Together, we are weaving a future of “Bounty” for our community!
