Aldersgate College Inc. launches 1st Research and Creative Works Festival

Aldersgate College, Inc. successfully launched the 1st Research and Creative Works Festival on January 28, 2026, as one of the key highlights of its 61st Foundation Day Celebration. With the theme “Excellence Beyond Compliance,” the festival underscored the College’s strong commitment to advancing research, innovation, and creative scholarship as pillars of educational reengineering.


Rev. Eduardo B. Copliting, Jr., Ph, College President approved the conduct of the activity. His support reinforced Aldersgate College’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant research culture and sustaining innovation across academic programs.


The academic event brought together faculty members, students and administrators in a collective celebration of inquiry, creativity, and institutional excellence. It also served as a platform for showcasing research outputs and creative works aligned with the College’s vision and mission.
The festival formally opened with the Booth Display and Research Poster Presentation, participated in by various academic departments. The ceremonial launching and ribbon-cutting were led by Dr. Marissa J. Taguinod, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Kristian Cesar C. Ollier, Vice President for Research Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Flordeliza C. Gecobe, Director for Research, Testing and Review and members of the Academic Council and Research Coordinators.
The booth displays featured the practical applications of research studies, creative works and innovations developed by both faculty members and students. Meanwhile, the research posters showcased completed researches and studies addressing educational challenges, institutional development initiatives, and community-based concerns. The activity encouraged scholarly dialogue, peer learning, and appreciation of research as a collaborative and creative process.

 

A major highlight of the festival was the seminar on Research, Innovation, and Creative Works, delivered by Dr. Mark Anthony Imperial Gano, School Head of Pinayag High School, Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya. The seminar was attended by more than a hundred faculty members and students.
Dr. Gano shared valuable insights on strengthening research culture, fostering innovation, and translating research outputs into meaningful creative works and institutional improvements. His lecture inspired participants to view research not only as an academic requirement but as a tool for transformation and impact.
The festival also featured Research Oral Presentations by faculty members from various academic departments. The presenters discussed the objectives, methodologies, findings, and implications of their studies, demonstrating scholarly rigor and interdisciplinary engagement.

Their presentations highlighted the growing research engagement of Aldersgate College Inc. faculty and their contributions to institutional improvement and knowledge generation.
The presence of the Administrative Council, led by Rev. Eduardo B. Copliting Jr., PhD, President of Aldersgate College, together with Dr. Marissa J. Taguinod, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Kristian Cesar C. Ollier, Vice President for Research, Development, and Entrepreneurship, emphasized the institutional importance of the festival.


The 1st Research and Creative Works Festival not only celebrated Aldersgate College Inc.’s 61 years of academic excellence but also affirmed its forward-looking commitment to relevance, innovation, and service. As the College continues to strengthen its research initiatives, the festival stands as a landmark event that promotes excellence and creative growth within the academic community.
In her inspirational message during the Closing Program of the Research Festival, Dr. Marissa J. Taguinod, VPAA, emphasized the theme “Excellence Beyond Compliance,” highlighting the significance of research in shaping institutional growth and fostering innovation. She commended both faculty and student researchers for their commitment to quality and integrity, noting that true excellence lies not merely meeting requirements but in pushing boundaries, seeking truth and making meaningful impact. Her words reminded everyone the research is a journey of progress, not perfection and that Aldersgate College at 61, continues to rise in excellence, driven by purpose and dedication.
