Solano, Nueva Vizcaya – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office, led by OIC Provincial Director Lenore Lee S. Lopez, formally launched the Shared Service Facility (SSF) Project, InnoKomunidad (Innovation and Community): An SSF Design Hub, on 15 June 2026 at Aldersgate College, Inc. (ACI), marking another milestone in the province’s pursuit of innovation-driven and inclusive economic development.
The project, worth ₱1,200,000.00, was established through the partnership between DTI Nueva Vizcaya and Aldersgate College, Inc., to provide Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), students, startups, local artisans, and innovators with access to modern design, prototyping, and digital fabrication technologies.
The facility, housed at the Aldersgate Student Mall in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, is equipped with digital and multimedia equipment, including a laptop, an all-in-one PC with a high-end printer for design prints, interactive whiteboards with graphic tablets and stylus pens, as well as innovative digital tools such as a desktop computer for CNC router prototype designing and a CNC router for woodworks fabrication.
Representing DTI Region 2 Regional Director Ma. Sofia G. Narag, Acting Assistant Regional Director Atty. Michael B. Paggabao highlighted the transformative potential of innovation and technology in uplifting communities.
“We can bring things miles away from what they used to be. By embracing projects such as this, we create opportunities for communities to grow and prosper. It is fitting that we begin with academic institutions because this is where young minds are nurtured. This project is a divine blessing, and we must move forward with innovation,” he remarked.
In her presentation of the project overview, OIC PD Lopez emphasized that the Shared Service Facility Program remains one of the government’s flagship initiatives aimed at enhancing the productivity, competitiveness, and innovation capacity of MSMEs through access to shared technology and equipment.
She explained that the InnoKomunidad SSF Design Hub was created not only to provide advanced tools and facilities but also to address the growing need for accessible innovation resources within communities. Through the facility, entrepreneurs, students, researchers, and local innovators can access services such as digital design and prototyping, product development, graphic and multimedia design, digital fabrication, skills enhancement, innovation and business consultation, as well as branding and marketing support.
“This project is more than the equipment that we see today. It is a platform where ideas can be developed, refined, and transformed into products and enterprises that create value for our communities,” Lopez shared.
Rev. Eduardo B. Copliting Jr., PhD, President of Aldersgate College Inc., expressed gratitude to DTI for the partnership and underscored the Design Hub’s significance in advancing innovation and community development.
“This facility will become a hub where innovation meets community needs. Through this partnership, we can create lasting social and economic impact and contribute to building a more innovative and inclusive Nueva Vizcaya,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ms. Lulubeth Arzadon of the Provincial Local Government Unit’s PROCEDE Office, representing Governor Jose V. Gambito, conveyed the Provincial Government’s support for initiatives that foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and inclusive economic growth in Nueva Vizcaya.
The event also featured the signing of the Usufruct Agreement between DTI and Aldersgate College, Inc., signifying the formal partnership and commitment of both institutions to ensure the effective operation and sustainability of the facility.
Following the signing ceremony, guests witnessed the blessing and ribbon-cutting of the InnoKomunidad SSF Design Hub, officially opening the facility for use by its intended beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Through InnoKomunidad, DTI, and Aldersgate College Inc. envision a future where innovation becomes a shared community resource—empowering individuals, strengthening enterprises, and transforming ideas into opportunities that contribute to the sustainable development of Nueva Vizcaya.
