Milestone Achievement: NRCP’s RDLead FIRE Program Grant to Aldersgate College Inc. Marked by Inaugural Onsite Conference at De La Salle University Manila

On August 1, 2024, the RDLead FIRE Program grant for Aldersgate College Inc., awarded by the National
Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), reached a significant milestone with its first onsite conference
at De La Salle University (DLSU) Manila. This event, a key component of the RDLead Program, marked an
important moment for engaging various stakeholders and advancing research and development.

Showcasing Cutting-Edge Research

The conference commenced with an impressive array of research presentations. Participants
experienced several published and multi-award-winning studies that highlighted breakthrough
advancements across diverse multidisciplinary fields. These presentations showcased the
program’s commitment to fostering innovative research and expanding the frontiers of
knowledge.

In-Depth Discussions on Research and Development Directions

In the afternoon, the focus shifted to detailed discussions on research and development
strategies. The conference provided a platform for evaluating potential research projects,
identifying gaps, and exploring effective solutions. Key discussion areas included among others:

  • Disaster Risk Management: Developing innovative strategies to improve disaster
    preparedness and response.
  • Forensic Training Using Geospatial Imagery: Enhancing forensic investigation techniques
    through advanced geospatial data.
  • Agricultural Artificial Intelligence (AI): Advancing agricultural practices and productivity
    with AI technologies.

Exploring DLSU’s Research and Entrepreneurial Facilities

The day concluded with a comprehensive campus tour led by Dr. Ronnie S. Concepcion II, RD
Leader; Engr. Mike Louie C. Enriquez; and Ms. Marian M. Lubag, all from the Department of
Manufacturing and Management. This tour offered ACI delegates an insightful look at DLSU’s
state-of-the-art research and entrepreneurial facilities. Highlights included the advanced
environments within the engineering department, where cutting-edge innovations are
developed. The tour also showcased DLSU’s iconic buildings, notable achievements, and dynamic
spaces designed to foster both academic excellence and entrepreneurial ventures. The
experience underscored DLSU’s commitment to integrating research with entrepreneurial
initiatives and served as a model for Aldersgate College’s own aspirations in these areas.

Envisioning Future Achievements

The RD Lead Program represents a forward-thinking collaboration between Aldersgate College
Inc. and the National Research Council of the Philippines, dedicated to enhancing research and
