Nick Jared Rain G. Domincel, a Grade 6 student, took the 4th spot in Sports Writing- Filipino during the 2023 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) held at Lal-lo, Cagayan last May 19-21.
Domincel said that even before the awarding, he already prepared himself to accept the result– win or lose because he knows that he did his best during the competition.
“Mark your goals and believe that you can achieve them. Do your best and God will do the rest.”, he added when he was asked about his message to young journalists like him.
Other contestants in the said event were Danica Joy A. Bulda (Feature Writing- Filipino) and Gerald Andrews Gatchalian (Copyreading and Headline Writing- English) who are both elementary students.
At the secondary level, contestants were Josel Noej F. Sopongco (Science and Health Reporting- Filipino), R Gift C. Guarin (Editorial Cartooning- English), and Julius Miguel T. Dacanay (Sports Writing- English). #
